Resistance

Habits are memories in action

Inaction is resistance

Resistance is the sound the wind makes

Rain streaked window pane

When you go

don’t slam the door

when you go

it’s all gone

it seems i’ve got it out for myself

afraid of really livin’

i always make it harder

and when you’re not around

my head gets to spinnin’

habits are memories

in action

inaction is resistance

resistance is the sound

wind makes

When you go

don’t slam the door

when you go

it’s all gone

So sick of this self deception and

inattention we’re living in

mirrors of reflections man

it’s alright,

it’s alright,

it’s all light

it’s all light

Once i get caught up in these shadows

you think i’m missin’

but all i need from you

is to fuckin’ listen

Habits

are memories in action

Inaction is resistance

Resistance is the sound

that wind makes.

When you go

don’t slam the door

when you go

it’s all gone

I’ve got this gene

It’s self defeating

I know I can’t win

Because I always give in.

Habits

are memories in action

Inaction is resistance

Resistance is the sound

that wind makes.

Thee Square Knot

Well i

drove by
you know i
i looked inside
just to see
what it was
i could see

nighttime bar

converted coffee shop
all the regulars hang out
in their regular hang out spots

Saddled up
Around the nighttime bartender
Converted barista

Heads in their hands
and the warm glow

processing the processes

of communication

Hazy waves of traffic outside
Blistering morning cold.

Well you know i
Drove right by with
Warm and fuzzy
Norman Rockwell
feelings welling up inside

Fog Over Lake Washington

The fog sits thick

over Lake Washington –

immovable like an activist.

Wakes come in from

behind the curtain –

in an endless supply –

to tickle the shore.

Watching change,

a trout’s splash

ripples the water

which in turn ripples thoughts

through my mind.

It occurs to me that as I try to describe

nature’s song, I ripple thoughts

through your mind.

If my actions are the only thing

that I truly have,

then perhaps the best thing I

could do is nurture growth.
